Technical ingenuity since 1958

Helge Nyberg began working at Volvo's spare parts warehouse in Ulricehamn in 1958. He soon started devising ways to make order picking more practical.
Helge designed a trolley with steps and a holder for the articles. The warehouse staff liked the idea and built the trolley according to his requirements. The rest, as they say, is history.

Helge Nyberg’s practical thinking and technical ingenuity still largely characterise the company that grew up around his handy picking trolley. Helge Nyberg AB has earned a reputation in the industry as a company with clever engineers and smart solutions that raise productivity.

LogiMAT Stuttgart 2010
During March we attended the LogiMAT fair in Stuttgart. This is our second year at the fair.

1958
The company is founded in a garage at Helge Nyberg’s home, and the first trolley is developed.

1959
Manufacture and sales begin, and the company gains its first distributor.

1960s
The first Series 20 trolleys are designed and manufactured in Ulricehamn. Helge Nyberg AB is founded, and Helge works in his company full time. The world-famous universal mounting clip is invented, and the company’s trolley concept takes shape.

1970s
The company employs its first staff members and achieves sales of over SEK 1 million.

1980s
Helge Nyberg focuses on sales via distributors and starts collaborating with mail order companies. A new factory and offices are built in Ulricehamn. Helge's son Björn takes over the company and becomes CEO.

1990s
The Ergobjörn brand is established, and the company gains ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. The company grows and takes on some 30 employees. Export sales start, and distribution agreements are signed in several countries.

2000s
Helge Nyberg builds new offices and expands its production area. Production moves from Dalum to Ulricehamn, and Helge Nyberg gains environmental certification. The company signs a worldwide contract with a major global trade company for distribution of the Ergobjörn truck. Helge Nyberg sells trucks and trolleys in over 60 countries through some 25 distributors. The company sets up offices in China and France.
